Downtime

DOWNTIME is the licence plate on my midlife Chrysler. This is the first new car I ever bought. It's a turbo-charged 1986 Chrysler LeBaron convertible. It looks as good today as the day I bought it 20 years ago and runs a lot better. I garage it all winter and just tool around in it and take it to shows in the summer.

I call it Downtime because it really relaxes me to drive it. Especially on a brisk fall day, taking in the beautiful Vermont foliage, turbo chirping, top down, wind through my hair.

We also own a menagerie of other vehicles. My wife Suzanne has been "patient" with my hobby. My oldest son Matt shares my love of cars and we spend quality-time working on them. Other cars in our fleet are a black 1994 Dodge Dakota 4x4, a black 1994 Saab 900 Turbo Commemorative Edition convertible (one of only 500 made), a black 1993 Saab 900 Turbo Commemorative Edition Coupe (one of only 314 made), a black (noticing a pattern here) 2001 Volvo V70XC, and lastly, a red 1973 Opel GT.
