The Boys
The Apple Doesn't Fall Far
Matt, mini me, always makes my mother smile. Probably because she got her wish: "I hope when you grow up you have a son just like you, so you know what hell you put me through!" I've already said the same thing to Matt. Matt makes me laugh too though, and he gives me great anecdotes to tell.
He's also my 70s muscle car motorhead buddy. Someday I hope we'll restore a car together—if he'll let me help. He's the only person I know who's more particular than I am. Matt has been talking since age 6 about making a flying car. If anyone can pull it off, Matt can.
Dimples
Andrew can turn the world on with his smile. He's silly, always singing, and a practical joker—always trying to put one over on his old man. He often succeeds. His favorite phrase is "Just kidding."
He's also my daring one. He came in from sleigh-riding one day with a tear in his eye and a tooth in his hand. I have a feeling that won't be the last time I see that sight.
The Inventor
Alex, our little stubborn bundle of joy. He spent most of the first 6 months of his life with a furrowed brow and a growl. He crawled late, walked late, and talked late. But he started eating solid food, throwing accurately, and feeding himself with a fork early. He'll do things HIS way. Don't dare try to feed him, he's independent.
He does like to play, though, and hide things. He's also a little socialite who is friendly with everyone instantly. He's got a great laugh, loves to cuddle and explore, and help with chores.
His favorite thing to play with is wood—surprise! He makes believe he's measuring and putting up trim. Unfortunately, he also likes to decorate the walls with markers.
